World Book Day

WORLD BOOK DAY Mrs Bell-Walker writes…

This year's World Book Day celebrations in key stage 2 were the most exciting yet. We were incredibly lucky to have world-renowned storyteller, Keith Donnelly in for the day. With a mixture of music, story and humour, he captivated the children and staff alike! His retelling of our whole school ‘fold over’ story at the end of the day was both spooky and hilarious in equal measures!

The children were dressed as the widest array of book characters I have ever seen; everything from Claude and Elmer to Harry, Percy and Katniss! The effort was astounding and really made the day special. Thank you to everyone at home who helped to make the school hall look like a who’s who of children’s literature!

There are still some great ideas and activities on the WBD website – including the ‘Bumper Book Quiz’ that we all attempted in school today; it is very tough! Have a look.
