Hornblower 05.12.24
Hornblower have continued to work hard and have loved bringing in their Christmas decorations for the school tree. If you haven’t brought a decoration in yet, not to worry. You can bring it in any day and we will add it to the tree. It’s amazing how many decorations one tree can hold! The elves have also clearly been busy, as two trees magically appeared in our classroom one lunchtime!
Children were also able to enter a Christmas art competition. All the submitted entries are currently on display in Ripon Cathedral. I wonder if anybody will spot theirs?
In Maths, Ophelia tells us, “We are now learning about shape. I like 3D shapes the most and I know vertices are the corners on the shape.”
In English, we have started a new story. Margot, Freddy, Hannah, and Poppy were all highly enthusiastic about it. Margot said, “I love our new story called Mrs. Armitage and the Big Wave. In it, she is surfing with her dog, but keeps going to get more stuff over and over again.”
Wren, alongside the rest of the class, absolutely loves going to the Junior school with Mrs. Needham for art. She proudly showed her pencil drawing and painting of pirates and the seas. Nola shared, “I’ve already made five paintings and I love it!”
We, of course, continue to work hard on rehearsing the nativity. The sounds are sounding joyful and not lacking volume!
