This week in Nidd

In Maths, we continue to learn about fractions and we are blowing our teachers away! Ava S says "I really enjoy learning about fractions, especially counting forwards and backwards on the number line."
Morris enjoyed English where we were looking at direct speech in the text and practised using direct speech by acting out a scene, reading a script. This was a popular lesson with everyone and it was wonderful to hear the expression that the children put into their acting!
In Learning Means the World we learned about the United Kingdom, identifying the countries that make up the UK, their capital cities and their flags. Darcie says, "My favourite flag was the one from Wales because it had a dragon on!" We also looked at the topography of Ripon, identifying human and physical features of our local area. Archer said this made him feel happy because he didn't know there were so many places to see around Ripon. It made us all think about how lucky we are to live here!
