Aire Class Blog

What a busy week it has been in Aire. Here is what has been happening...

Our English work has been continuing to look at The Day The Crayons Quit. We have used role-playing to understand how the crayons feel when they are making their complaints. The angry Red Crayon was especially fun to do. We also wrote a letter of complaint to Mrs Sanderson, requesting that playtimes be much longer...watch this space!

Shrove Tuesday saw us joining in a whole school Pancake Race which was lots of fun. Aire class were not only fantastic at the racing but showed what excellent cheerleaders they are by really getting behind the other year groups in their races.

Thursday brought the much-anticipated World Book Day. THe children could choose to go to another classroom to hear a book being read. We took part in a live CBBC reading event which was great fun. Later in the day, we created our own "Top-Trump"-style fact sheets about some of our favourite characters from the books we have read. In Aire, we had lots of fantastic costumes, from Catherine Parr to Tim Peake to Emilia Earheart.

This week we have launched our new Learning Means The World topic - The Saxons. We will be learning about the life and times of Harold Hadrada. As part of this learning, in Art, we have been looking very closely at the Bayeux Tapestry and observing how the events of the time were depicted.
