Swale News
We are very thankful for the sunshine in Swale this week!
In the Learning Means the World we have continued our learning on Anglo-Saxons. We have been learning about the Witan Council and how they decided who would be the next King of England, based upon a claim to the throne. They considered a number of aspects, such as bravery, bloodlines and surprisingly, whether they could dance! William the Duke of Normandy was crowned by our Witan council. Archie did a wonderful job of persuading them (including some impressive dancing!).
In English, we have started a new text called A River, and we have been thinking of a range of adjectives and verbs to describe a journey down a river. Lizzy enjoyed writing a setting description about being near a river.
In Maths, we have been thinking about the word equivalent and what it means and been learning how to use fraction walls to help us with equivalent fractions. Lily said she is now starting to feel more confident with fractions.
In RE, we have continued our learning about the Gospel and the good news that Jesus brings. We have been thinking about how Jesus showed love and kindness and how this can help us today.
