Ribble's Class Blog

Enjoy another run down of the events from this week in Ribble!
This week in Ribble class, the learning journey progressed with continued enthusiasm. The welcome appearance of sunshine provided a delightful backdrop for our activities. We particularly enjoyed the outdoor orienteering session on Thursday, which significantly boosted morale. I have been particularly impressed with the children's growth in social skills during the collaborative activities as well as their engagement with the tasks on a whole.
Mathematics this week focused on decimals, including rounding and identifying equivalent fractions involving thousandths. We are moving on quickly, but the children are working very well to keep focused. In Guided Reading, the children were thrilled to embark on a new literary adventure. We have made predictions based on the book's cover and blurb has sparked lively and engaging class discussions.
We are reaching the end of our Shakleton's Journey which leads us onto the 'big write' for this topic. So far the children have crafted detailed plans for their diary entries. They are from the perspective of Shackleton or his crew members. The creativity, adverbials, brackets and technical vocabulary displayed in their planning stages have been truly impressive.
Come back next week for another educational journey!
