Ribble's Class Blog

Enjoy our weekly report from Ribble!

In Art, we have been painting our slab pots and our mosaics - it has been so much fun. We were using black, gold and bronze paints which made them look particularly striking. This links nicely to our Learning Means the World topic of Romans. In pairs, in Learning Means the World, we created impressive, stunning presentations which helped us grow our computing skills as well as develop our knowledge on ‘What the Romans Left us in Britain’. Everyone’s presentations were unique and we loved sharing them with the class.

In English, we have finally finished our wonderful writing. The stories that we have created are super and Skye said that she has put a lot of effort into it and is very proud of the class. As well as writing the book, we have been doing lots of editing so that we have included relative clauses, effective dialogue and descriptive and meaningful paragraphs to show the plot.

In maths, we have been converting fractions in lots of different ways. We have been challenging ourselves and are making a lot of progress with the topic. Soon we will be experts!

In guided reading, we have continued to read our new book as a class and we are enjoying it very much. Oliver thinks that it is sometimes difficult to understand because it was set a long time ago. This is making us imagine what time was like when the book was set.

Also, we are very grateful that we have been able to meet an author in real life! Susannah Lloyd kindly came to school to introduce her books to us. Alex is extremely excited to read it and we had so much fun as a class looking at her books.
