Wensley Class Blog

Welcome to our week in Wensley!
As usual, we have been extremely busy here in Wensley Class!
We are continuing our work on decimals in Maths and moving into the hundredths column on our place value charts. We have been looking at decimals using counters, cubes and number lines.
In English, we are continuing our journey through the Antarctic with Shackleton and his men. It was traumatic learning about all the problems that they faced and some of the terrible and heartbreaking decisions that Shackleton had to make. We have been debating whether we would have made the same decisions.
In Learning Means the World, we have been learning about all the amazing things that our circulatory system does within our bodies and the children designed some amazing cartoons to demonstrate the journey of a blood vessel. They have shown incredible learning in a very colourful and fun way.
PE has seen us improve our netball skills and we have been learning how to dodge the people marking us in order to make a space and collect the ball. It was wonderful to see how their skills have improved in such a short time and I am always impressed with their teamwork and sportsmanship.
As you can see, we have started a new class novel. I am so excited to share one of may favourite stories with the class but I am also a little sad to have finished 'There's a Boy in the Girls' Bathroom'. The class loved it and responded so well to the story of friendship and change. I hope that they are going to love this new book 'Stormbreaker' by Anthony Horrowitz as much as I do!
