Spa Class Blog

Welcome to our class blog!

In English, we continued to read the story ‘Goldilocks and the Three Bears.’ We thought about how we could stop Goldilocks from going into the forest and came up with the idea of ‘Beware of the Bear’ posters. We all drew amazing pictures of bears and gave meaning to marks. Some children could hear some of the sounds in the words and made letter-like shapes!

In Maths we have been looking at different ways to make 4. We used frogs and a pond to show we could make 4 with; 3 and 1, 2 and 2, 1 and 3 and 4 and 0.  We have also shown 4 using a fives frame and counters.

In Phonics we have been singing the nursery rhyme Humpty Dumpty. We had fun singing the song fast, slowly, loud and quiet. We identified rhyming words and tapped the syllables in words. We listened for the ‘H’ initial sound in words and could sort picture cards into words that started with the ‘H’ sound and words that started with a different sound.

In Learning Means the World we have looked at different types of bears and described them. Georgie explained the Sun Bear ‘had some orange fur.’ Etta explained ‘all the bears have black noses.’ Jaxon explained ‘Polar Bears are white.’ We all thought the bear's fur looked very soft and fluffy. We have also enjoyed retelling the ‘We’re Going on a Bear Hunt’ story in the outdoor area and with the small world toys.
