We have had a very busy week in Skell class!
In English we read the story 'Goldilocks and the Three Bears.' We spotted speech bubbles in the books, and we know what the character is saying goes into a speech bubble. We were able to write our own speech bubbles. We spotted verbs (action words) in the story and thought of our own - running, sleeping, eating, sleeping and singing. We received a letter from Goldilocks and thought of questions we could ask her. Ida asked “How did you find the house?” Amelia asked “Why did you eat all the porridge?” We also did Goldilocks hot seating and were able to ask Goldilocks our questions.
We have been busy building and labelling new chairs for bears and making comfortable beds in the DT area.
In Maths we have been working with the numbers 9 and 10. We can find one more and one less than a given number. Find different ways to make 10, such as 8 and 2, 6 and 4 and show this practically and show how to make 10 with amounts in three groups, such as there are 3 here and 3 there and 4 over there.
In Phonics we have been writing longer words and chunking them up into two parts to help our reading and writing, such as popcorn, rooftop and carpark. We have been reading the tricky word; she we me be was you they all.
In Learning Means the World we have read the story ‘Little Red Riding Hood’ and made maps of the forest.
