Skell Class Blog

We have had a really busy week in Skell Class!

We have been looking at advent and understanding advent means. We have made our own advent calendar. We have also been practising our nativity songs and where we sit on the stage. We can not wait for you to see our performance next Friday!

In phonics this week we have been reviewing some sounds that we have found tricky, as well as looking at plurals and when an s makes a z sound. It was very confusing!

In English we have carried on looking at Whatever Next. We have talked about lists and when we use them we even made a shopping list for Miss Davison so we can have a picnic on the moon, like in the story.

In Maths this week we have been looking at parts and wholes. We started by looking at parts of our body and how all of them together makes us a whole. We then looked at how some parts are removable, but when put together they make a whole. Ronnie said "a car's wheels are a part and when they are on the car it makes a whole." Ernie said "the Christmas tree is a part and the baubles are a part,  put them together, it makes a whole."

In Learning Means the World, we have been looking at other people who help us in our community. Penny said 'Builders are helpful as they build us houses." Jasmine said bin men are helpful as they get rid of our rubbish."
