We're All in this Together
Sharing children's learning and experiences with our families and community is central to our values and ethos. We have a range of ways in which we share experiences, events, achievements and next steps. Below is a taster of some of the things parents and families can expect to be part of over the school year.
It is worth noting that sharing happens every day as there are always staff including school leaders to talk to at drop off and pick up times - please say hello!
Parents' Evenings and Reports
Each term, parents will be informed about the social, emotional and academic progress of their child.
In the Autumn term, the parent consultation will focus on how children have settled into their new year group; the relationships they are building in school; their approach to learning and the progress they have made within the aspects of the curriculum which has been covered.
In the Spring term, parents attending the parent consultation will receive their child's mid-year report. This focuses on children's personal attributes and successes alongside academic progress and next steps.
In the Summer term, parents will receive their child's end of year report which highlights children's successes and achievements alongside their next steps in learning. Parents with children in Reception, Year 1, Year 2 and Year 6 will also receive statutory assessment information for their child. Parents are also invited to an open afternoon where they can share in and celebrate their child's learning.
Each year, at the start of the Autumn Term, we hold an open evening. The purpose of this is to give families an opportunity to share in and experience their child's learning environment and give a taster of the learning experiences to come over the year.
We also use this time to share with parents the elements we are focussing on and developing in school - they even get to taste some school lunches too!
