Skell Class Blog

This week in Skell class we have been very busy.

In phonics this week we have learnt 4 new sounds. 'ur', 'oi', 'ow' and 'ear'. We have all been doing so well, remembering all of our phase 2 and phase 3 sounds. We have been practising our tricky words a lot, as some of them are very tricky.

In English, we finished How to Catch a star, by writing a sentence about what we wish for. We have also started our new book, which is Owl Babies. We have been exploring the front and back covers of the book.

In Maths, we have been using part, whole models to help us remember our number bonds to 5. We have also been looking at 1 more and how the numbers, when made with cubes, look like a staircase.

In Learning Means the World this week, we have been looking at savoury food. We looked at the process of making bread and how it changes. We are all very excited because we made pizza dough, then  decorated our pizzas on Friday.

This week we have been outside lots, even in the rain. Some of us built a shelter outside with the help of Miss Elsy and Mr Fenlon. We sat in our shelter and read stories, it was lots of fun!
