This week in Nidd...

Another busy and exciting week for us all in Nidd as this half term continues to whizz by!
In LMTW, we moved onto the Iron Age, using our historical enquiry skills to look for clues in the discovery of Lindow Man. We used those clues to make our own theories about his story and how he came to be found in a peat bog. The children are really starting to become history detectives by piecing information together and linking it to other things they have already learned.
In English we are coming to the end of our poetry unit and the children have been busy writing their own range of poems independently. Their imagination and enthusiasm for poetry have been wonderful to see, with many children naming this as their favourite English text so far!
What a fantastic time we had swimming this week! We can already see everyone's confidence building and we are really impressed with the progress all the children have made in just two weeks.
To round off the week, we found out that we have achieved 100% attendance in the last week. The children are all busy thinking of what treat they would like. When we have some ideas, (in true Athenian style!) we will put it to a democratic vote. Watch this space!
