Our English, Guided Reading and Learning Means the World all have a strong link - we are learning all about rocks!

We looked at the three main types of rock - sedimentary, igneous and metamorphic and how those rocks are formed. We have been using our dictionaries to find the definitions of technical words such as erosion, mineral and geology. We will be using these words in our writing next week.

We also looked at how fossils are formed within sedimentary rock and created flow charts to explain the process.

We had a vote to choose our treat for achieving 100% attendance. The children overwhelmingly voted for a pyjama and teddy day. This will take place next Thursday (13.02.2025). Children are invited to come to school in their pyjamas and bring their favourite bear!
