Skell Class Blog

We have had another busy week in Skell class!
We would like to thank all the families who were able to come to the stay and play. We had so much fun showing you all the fun things we have been learning.
In Phonics this week, we have been recapping our phase 3 sounds again. We have been reading longer words that contain more than 1 diagraph.
In English this week, we finished our book about Frogs and have moved onto Goldilocks and the three bears. We have looked at the characters, the setting, the plot and the resolution. Miss Davison was amazed at how quickly we were able to retell the story. A group of us even acted out the story in the outside area, with Tommy narrating the story.
In Maths this week, we have been looking at numbers 9 and 10. We have been using lots of maths resources, including bead strings, for the first time. We have been looking at what 2 numbers can be put together to create 9 and 10.
In LMTW, we have continued our new topic, Down to the woods. We have been looking at what we might find in a woodland area. We talked about the differences between forests and woodlands and even did some observational drawings and paintings of flowers.
