Laver Blog Post
Hello and welcome to our last blog post of 2024! Can you believe it?
We have had such a wonderful first term in Laver. Well done to all the children for completing their first term in year 1. They should all be very proud of all their big and little wins!
This week in Laver we've been embracing the Christmas magic and the learning has not stopped!
On Monday we spent the day with Newton focusing on Science, we dissected plants and labelled the parts. We discovered different foods that come from plants. It was really tricky to get inside the coconut! We brainstormed all the different plants we know and see in our local area, and we created a life timeline, documenting the changes that deciduous trees go through.
In RE this week we have been writing prayers to say thanks at Christmas. Thomas K said he was thankful for Christmas snow globes, Hollie said she was thankful for Christmas food and Logan said he was thankful for his friends that bring him joy!
Our Nativity was this week and it was simply fantastic! The children were so brave for standing up infront of all those adults and singing their hearts out, well done!
On Thursday we had our Christmas lunch and then our Christmas party. We had a very tense game of pass the parcel (see picture above) and the children had some famous dance moves!
Merry Christmas from team Laver and see you next year!
