Nidd News 08.11.24

It has been a very busy week in Nidd Class but we are happy to be back and eager to do some new learning!

This week we launched our new Learning Means the World unit, Athens v Sparta. We spent Monday afternoon learning about Greece. Archer said the Greek food was "delicious" and Jay found the new cheese "very interesting because I have never tried that type of cheese before." The children thought about what their favourite and least favourite foods were. Amber said her favourite was the Greek yoghurt and her least favourite was the pitta bread. There were some funny faces tasting the olives! We also learned some Greek words and tried some Greek dancing. Aylar told us "I enjoyed doing the Greek dancing because it made me feel joyful."

In English, we have started our new text, 'Myth Atlas'. Morris said, "I really liked writing a myth about Simargl."

We are looking forward to learning about more myths from around the world!
