Hornblower Class Blog

We've continued to beaver away in Hornblower this week, both with our day to day learning, and polishing up our fantastic nativity!

Maths has been really challenging, but the class have worked their socks off to build their understanding. We've been learning to add and subtract within 100. Jenny said, "We've used base-10 to practice exchanging when we subtract." Bobbie-Mae added excitedly, "Sometimes we've been swapping a ten for ten ones!"

In English we are now writing our very own versions of No-Bot, The Robot with no Bottom. Freddie's robot has lost his tooth, and Emily and Oscar J's have both lost an eyeball. We look forward to reading the finished products!

In Learning Means The World we have learned about our digital footprints. As Elsie explains, "It's like a footprint that gets bigger when we go online, made out of all of our information. We learnt about privacy and having private information we do not share." Well explained, Elsie! We've also really enjoyed learning about algorithms, and creating some simple ones to direct an Angry Bird into a pig!
