Hornblower Class Blog
Capacity and Paper Planes!
Hornblower were delighted to win the Headteacher's Award last Friday. Mrs Sanderson presented it to us, due to the fabulous feedback the class had received from Mr Banks, who told her his PE lessons with Hornblower are his favourite time of the week. I know that for many of the class, it's their highlight as well. Well done, Hornblower!
In maths, we have moved onto capacity and volume, learning about the standard units of measure: millilitres (ml) and litres (l). Please ask your child if they can remember the difference between them. We had a lot of fun trying to pour a large volume of water into small containers, and were thankful for the mop bucket to catch any spills.
In science, the children explored making paper planes, and then making changes to their design to see if they would fly further. There were some magnificent results from some of the class! It also gave us a chance to practise measuring length again.
A huge thank you to parents for supporting the fundraising for Ripon Walled Gardens. I know your contributions will make a real difference to the work they do.
A final thank you for all the conversations during Parents' Evening. It's really lovely to share the successes of our fantastic class! We hope you all have a wonderful Easter.
