Hornblower Class Blog

Welcome back.
It's been lovely to have the children back at school; they've settled back in beautifully! We have been very pleased to welcome Mr Morton, who will be supporting learning in our classroom. The children have enjoyed getting to know him, and I know he has enjoyed his first few days with our super stars!
The class were very keen to share how much they enjoyed the Easter Fun Day on the last day before breaking up for Easter. Oscar J remembered the fun of racing like a bunny, whilst Poppy particularly enjoyed making bunny ears. I believe taking home a chocolate egg at the end of the day was very popular as well!
We are focusing on conservation across the school in our Learning Means The World topics. Next week we will get our teeth into 'Going Wild', which has a Science focus.
In English we've been writing recounts of our Easters, and focusing on core sentence-writing skills before we start our new text next week, all about a Disgusting Sandwich, which I'm sure will go down well!
In maths, we have been completing our 'measure' topic, by looking at calculating with capacity and volume, and also temperature.
Have a lovely weekend!
