This week in Nidd...

It has been a fantastic week in Nidd!
Our new Maths unit is measure and we have been practising measuring accurately in cm and mm. We took our learning outside to measure objects around the playground. Sophie said the most challenging thing is "Making sure the ruler or tape measure is straight."
In Learning Means the World we ended our unit by learning about Boudica. Darcie said "She was brave and her life was interesting." Sienna was impressed that "She wanted to prove the Romans wrong and show them that she was really strong." We are excited to be moving on to our new unit, learning all about rocks and fossils.
We have also started a new English text, which is also about rocks and fossils. Jay tells us, "We have been trying to find the features of a non-fiction text." We also found out about how volcanoes are formed. There is a lot of new technical vocabulary to learn over the next few weeks!
All the children in Nidd want to say a big "Well done!" to Sienna, Connie, Darcie and Scarlett C for their amazing performances at the Young Voices concert at Sheffield Arena, they really did us proud!
