Nidd News

Find out what has been happening in Nidd this week!
As we reach the end of this half term, it is hard to believe that we are half way through the year already!
We have come to the end of our English unit and spent two days completing our final write. We used all the learning we have done in English, Guided Reading and LMTW to make some really fantastic information pages about sedimentary rock and fossils. There are definitely some budding scientists among us! Jasper P says "I enjoyed learning about the different types of rocks, especially metamorphic rocks because they change and that just seems really cool."
All the children are making super progress with their times tables. Jay is really proud of his progress in TT Rockstars, "I have beaten my highest score." he told us proudly.
In Spanish, we have started to learn the names for some fruits in Spanish. Parents, expect some requests for "las manzanas", "las peras" and "los platanos" over half term!
We will continue our swimming lessons next half term. Everyone is really enjoying the lessons and making great progress. Aleksej says "When I first went I was nervous but now it makes me happy." Archer said that all the swimming teachers are really kind.
We ended the half term in style by celebrating our 100% attendance achievement with a pyjama day. It was lovely to see the array of teddies and cuddly toys who joined us for the day!
