Aire Class Blog 1

Welcome to the Aire Class blog. We are really excited to be sharing our learning with you each week on this blog.

This week we have begun to read a book called Blue John by Berlie Doherty. Brooke says she has been enjoying this story and really likes the dilemma Blue John faces. Poppy likes the way Blue John danced with the children in the story.

In Maths we have started to learn more about Multiplication and Division using our times-table knowledge to help us with division facts. Harriet thinks it is quite hard, but it is really fun.

This week was very exciting because we went on a school trip to the Ripon Police and Prison Museum and the Courthouse. We re-enacted a trial that took place in Victorian Ripon, involving a boy who stole a loaf of bread. Izzy thought that the sentence given to the boy, sending him to Australia for seven years, was a bit too long!

Bronte found the museum a bit creepy but would definitely recommend it to anyone who wants to learn about the history of law and order in Ripon.

In R.E we have been thinking about how some people see life as a journey. Kaihan says he has noticed that some religions also see life in this way.
