Swale News

After a cold week, we are excited to share our class news.

In Maths, we have been learning about the 7 and 11 times tables. Ali said he enjoyed spotting the patterns even though it was a bit tricky at times. Archie enjoyed using his multiplication facts to help him solve multiplication problems.

At the end of last week, we had our local PCSO come in to help us understand how to stay safe online and how to report anything that makes us feel unsafe. Sophie P said that she learnt how important it was to make sure you know exactly who friends are online.

In LMTW, we were working with Claude (our computer science creature) and exploring Scratch. We had to create an underwater scene with an algorithm to make a fish move left to right repeatedly. Ted was excited that he could add a trampoline to make his fish bounce up and down. Some of the algorithms needed debugging to make sure they worked correctly and the children worked well together to solve the problems.

We have been focussing on writing our story plan and first draft of our own version of Blue John. Ted enjoyed writing his first draft, because he could edit it to make it even better.

We have continued with our Christmas production, and we have been learning some dancing to go with some of the songs. Freddie said it was fun doing marching in our dancing. Lizzie said she has enjoyed putting action into the lines and trying to add some comedy.

Joshua is sure everyone has enjoyed our PE this week as we have been playing hockey and learning new skills!
