Wensley Blog

We have had a wonderful week in Wensley Class!
The children have once again impressed me with their attitude to learning and their hard work. In Learning Means the World this week, we have been looking at prejudice and how the world of football during World War I was dominated by women's football. The crowds were huge and the photographs of the teams are brilliant. We have had some very lively discussions as to why the Football Association decided to effectively ban women's football for 50 years. The children have been very mature when discussing both sides of the argument. I have been impressed by their knowledge and insight.
In Maths, we have been continuing our learning of long multiplication. The class have shown great resilience and are getting more and more accurate with their calculations. Keep practising your times tables children! It really makes a huge difference to your work when you have your facts at your fingertips!
In RE, we have been continuing our topic of Salvation. We have been looking into who we think was responsible for the death of Jesus. The children have had some wonderful and interesting discussions and have produced some fabulous 'Responsibilty Pies'. We look forward to deepening this knowledge as we explore our Salvation topic further.
