Wensley Class Blog

Happy Easter!

We have had a lovely final week of term here in Wensley Class.  We have been very busy as usual! Our picture shows some children adding their thoughts and discussion ideas to our Class RE Floor book. This is a lovely way of recording all the wonderful things we discuss in RE.  Our questions this half-term was Creation and Science: Conflicting or Complimentary? We have had some incredibly mature conversations about all aspects of the question and the children have been excellent at looking at other points of view. I am very proud of the way the children have discussed all viewpoints with sensitivity and understanding.

We began a new topic in Maths this week and have been looking closely at the perimeter.  We had a fun time working out the perimeter of rectilinear shapes. It was much harder than we first thought, but we got there in the end. We discovered that it pays to be systematic and organised in our jottings!

In Learning Means the World, we have been looking closely at the River Nile and what life was and is like around it.  We looked at an ancient map of Egypt and a modern map of Egypt and discussed the similarities and differences. After the holidays, we will be looking more closely at the role of the Aswan Dam and how it has changed the lives of the people who live by the River Nile.

Have a lovely Easter holiday and a well-earned rest!
