This week in Skell class...

We have had a very busy week in Skell class this week!

In phonics this week we have been learning 4 new digraphs. We are all so good at remembering what a digraph is. The new phonemes we have learnt this week are 'sh', 'th', 'ng' and 'nk'.

In maths this week we have been describing the positions of objects. We all had a go at putting an object somewhere and explaining its position. Atticus said, 'The pencil is under the table.' Emilia said, 'The car is behind the box.'

In English this week we have been looking at writing sentences. We have been learning about what we need in a sentence: capital letters, finger spaces and a full stop. We came up with hand actions to help us.

In Learning Means the World, we have been learning about nurses and doctors. Miss Davison's Dad came to visit us and told us all about his job as a nurse. We had a go using a stethoscope, pulse oximeter, a blood pressure machine and a light box. We all had to help teddy get to the hospital, but the teddy left lots of germs on our hands. We put our hands in the light box to see the germs. We then had to wash our hands and make sure we got all the germs off. Isaac said, 'The germs are invisible until we put our hands under the box.' Ivy said, 'I have lots of germs in-between my fingers. I need to make sure the soap goes in there.'
