Skell Class Blog

This week in English we have continued to look at owls. This week we have looked at non-fiction books and found out facts about owls. We can identify key features of a non-fiction book, such as title, contents page, label and picture. We have made our own non-fiction owl books.

In Maths we have been finding doubles of numbers, we can show doubles using our fingers and even predict doubles of numbers. We have also been combining two groups of objects. We can say how many are in each group and how many there are altogether.

In Phonics we have continued to read and write longer words using the graphemes we have previously been taught.

In Learning Means the World we have started our new unit ‘When Hats had Brims.’

We went on a hat hunt and named the different hats we found. We thought about who might wear the hat and described our favourite hat to a friend. We have also sorted the hats into hats we wear now and hats from a long time ago.
