Skell Class Blog

What a busy week it has been in Skell Class!

This week in Skell Class we have been really busy practising our Nativity songs. We enjoyed our dress rehearsal and we all looked amazing! We can not wait for all our families to come and watch us on Friday!

In phonics this week we have started learning our phase 3 sounds. They are really tricky, but we are all doing so well. This weeks sounds have been 'ai', 'ee', 'igh' and 'oa'. We also have learnt what a trigraph is '3 letters that makes 1 sound'.

In maths this week we have been exploring numbers 4 and 5 again. We made our own stampolines using cubes and paint. We had to change the cubes into different ways of making 4 and 5 and print them onto the paper. We have also been looking at wholes and parts, we are getting really good with knowing the parts which add together to make 5.

In English, we have started our final book of Autumn term. It is The Gingerbread man, we predicted the story, discussed our likes and dislikes and mapped out the story.

In Learning Means the world, we enjoyed our 'Help is at Hand' topic. We further explored ways in which we can help people in our EYFS classrooms.
