Wakeman Class Blog

Welcome to our class blog. We have been VERY busy with all our learning this week, including working on and practising our Nativity.

We appreciate all the hard work that is being put in at home to practise lines and songs.

Logan was excited to say, 'We have been learning to write our own story of No-Bot the Robot. My robot lost his eye!'. We have come up with some fantastic ideas, thinking carefully about using full stops, question marks, exclamation marks and capital letters for names.

Holly shared that, 'In Art we have been making our own pirate boats. We used paper and white straws.' We cannot wait to display these in our classroom!

In Maths, we have been continuing our work on number. Aura said, 'We have been subtracting numbers. We have to exchange 1 ten for 10 ones to be able to find our answer'. This has been tricky, but we did not give up!

In Phonics this week we have been learning new spelling rules. Lucas W said, 'We know we need to protect the short vowel when adding the suffix -ing'. Parker says, 'There are some tricky words, although we now know that if the word has a 'x ' in it, we do not need to double it.'
