Admissions

Our school staff are always happy to help with admissions and a warm welcome awaits when you come to look round and meet us. Please contact the school office if you would like to make an appointment to visit.

We follow the Local Authority (LA) admissions guidelines. The LA sets the number of admissions each year, with the approval of the governing body. Our published admission number (PAN) is currently 60 pupils. Where the number of children applying to start exceeds this limit, places are allocated in accordance with the LA criteria, as set out in their admissions documents. All admissions to The Federation of Holy Trinity Church of England  Schools have to be approved by Harrogate Education Office prior to the child starting.

Nursery

For information regarding Nursery and the admission process please click here. Parents are asked to note that acceptance of a place in Nursery does not guarantee a place into main school.

Children starting Reception

Children joining our Reception year, including those who have attended our on-site nursery will need to apply for a place via the Local Authority admissions process - please click here.

If you would like to book a tour to visit Reception for 2025/2026 admission please contact the school office. We currently have two tour dates for parents to attend:

  • Thursday 7th November 9.15-10.15am & 1.30-2.30pm
  • Tuesday 19th November 9.15-10.15am & 1.30-2.30pm

Please find attached the Starting Primary School admissions letter for prospective parent/carers who have a child who is due to start in Reception in September 2025 advising them how to apply.

The key dates to note are:

15 January 2025 - the deadline to apply for a primary school place.

16 April 2025 - National Offer Day, primary school places are allocated on this day.

Key Stage 2

At the end of Year 2, children transfer from the Infant site to the Junior site. As we are officially classed as 2 schools, children moving into Year 3 will need to apply for a place using the Local Authority admissions process - click here to view the letter to parents. Children moving into Year 3 participate in transition activities in the summer term of Year 2 to familiarise themselves with the building and staff.

Most pupils transfer from Federation of Holy Trinity Church of England Schools, Key stage 2 to the two Ripon secondary schools – Ripon Grammar School and Outwood Academy – although some parents opt to send their children to schools in neighbouring towns. Parents must complete a preference form listing their choice of secondary schools.
