Pupil Voice

Make your voice heard!

At The Federation of Holy Trinity Church of England Primary Schools, we encourage pupils to take part in a wide range of activities and experiences across and beyond the curriculum, contributing fully to the life of our school and community. Through taking part in curricular and extra-curricular activities, our children learn to recognise their own worth, work well with others and become increasingly responsible for their own learning. Our pupils, as part of the process of growing up, will be given the opportunity to reflect on their experiences and understand how they are developing personally and socially. Spiritual, moral, social and cultural issues are seen to be an important part of this process.

We have a wide variety of roles in school for which our pupils are responsible. They work under the guidance of a key member of staff, but increasingly, as they develop through school, they take greater autonomy in their roles. Pupil voice roles are distributed across both Infant and Junior sites so that all children's voices are heard!

Have a look at what is happening in school right now!

Pupil Voice Role

Responsibilities

Pupil Governors

The pupil governors meet weekly to represent the views of their classes. The pupil governors recently constructed their own set of objectives for their role:

  • To represent our classes, year groups and school.
  • To be happy to take on responsibility.
  • To make the school the best it can be.
  • To represent the pupils’ points of view.
  • To make everyone around school happy that their voice is being heard.
  • To improve the education on offer for the pupils in our school from their perspective.
  • To spot what needs to be changed.
School Ambassadors

Two Y6 pupils from each house (Newby, Fountains, Studley & Brimham) have been voted in by the rest of the pupils in their houses to represent them as school ambassadors.

The role includes leading a house huddle once every half-term and discussing ideas created by members of their houses. Ideas could be thinking of whole house fund-raising events, creating inter-house events or new initiatives to roll out throughout the school run by each house.

School Ambassadors are the welcoming face of pupils at Holy Trinity!

Friendship Ambassadors

At Holy Trinity, we believe in the power of friendship and regard children’s happiness and safety as paramount and at the heart of all we do.

Our Friendship Ambassadors are a group of pupils who help to promote this message. They work together to develop whole school initiatives as well as working alongside other key pupil roles across school (such as zone rangers) reviewing and putting forward ideas to improve parts of our school provision.

Every year our group helps to run an anti-bullying campaign for a week in November. Throughout the year, we raise awareness of bullying, survey the school to find out their views, discuss with pupils and staff how it affects people and the importance of tackling it. We do this by running assemblies and talking to classes. We also encourage children to tell someone if they are being bullied.

Worship Warriors

The Worship Warriors support in the planning and leading of Collective Worship. They open worship and guide the school in prayer, both in school and in Church during services. They meet weekly, and this term have already rewritten the school prayer as a Worship team!

Librarians

As well as organising the books in the library and making sure they are in good condition, the librarians meet as a team weekly to arrange library events and design the displays in the library. They promote a love of reading around school and present new events and authors in Collective Worship.

In the months ahead, the librarians are going to be involved in helping to organise book events with external providers and will be promoting visiting authors in classrooms so that all classes know what’s happening in school!

Zone Rangers

During our play times at Holy Trinity, we ‘Play Safe and ‘Stay Safe’. The role of our Zone Rangers is to provide a range of fun and engaging play time activities that allow the children to embrace their physical, artistic and social development.

The Zone Rangers are responsible for planning and organising activities that are aimed at all children. The children then have the opportunity to spend playtimes with their peers from all classes and year groups and, in doing so, build upon their friendship groups and sense of community at school.

Just some of the Zone Ranges organised by the children include Arts, Skipping, Hoops, Netball, Chill and Chat, Football, Cricket and Throwing and Catching. Within each of the Ranges, the Zone Rangers have a dedicated supply of equipment for the children to access.

At the end of each week, during Praise, our very own ‘Holy Trinity Zone Ranger Power Cards’ are presented to those children who go above and beyond in showing safe and responsible play.

KS1 Lunchtime Leaders

The super Lunchtime Leaders will be suggesting and inventing games to play during playtimes and also helping in the dinner hall, supporting the younger children to eat, clearing plates and tidying up! The Lunchtime leaders are eager and keen to help out!

We will be meeting once a half-term to think of new games to play on the playground.

If you have any outdoor games at home that you no longer use, the Lunchtime Leaders would gladly adopt them for you and ensure that they are played with well at school!

KS2 Lunchtime Leaders

Our Lunchtime Leaders team will be assisting the lunchtime staff each day, supporting the younger children with lunchtime routines and ensuring that the hall is cleared away ready for the afternoon's learning.

Science Rep

Our Science Reps will have a very exciting role in school, helping to raise the profile of science in school and organise and promote special science events across school. They will also help to look after our wonderful science resources for everyone to use.

Eco-Warriors

Our Eco-Warriors will be deciding on different projects to run in school to help to ensure we all have a greener, more sustainable future. They will also be raising the profile of things we can all do in school to save energy.

Digital Leaders

our Digital Leaders support with all things 'Computing' around school. Every digital leader is assigned a year group to support. They will ensure the ChromeBooks are stored away correctly and safely. They will also support the younger children when logging onto and using the ChromeBooks and also helping to plan Safer Internet Day.

TT Rock Stars

The TTRockStars reps are responsible for making everyone excited about times tables and the amazing TTRockStars program. They will be promoting competitions and possibly even organising a Rock Star dress up event!
