Welcome to Spa Class

Here in Spa Class each day is fun and filled with exciting learning and playing opportunities.

We aim to offer provision that is rich in possibilities; we want to provide children with an exciting environment along with the freedom to explore their own interests and fascinations.   

We work in close partnership with parents and carers to ensure that each child is happy, safe and reaching their potential.

We celebrate each child’s learning and development in their personalised learning journey.  The learning journey documents a child’s time in Spa class and is shared regularly with the child and their family.

We also love to see and share in your child’s special moments and achievements at home. You are encouraged to share their WOW moments with us using their private channel in TEAMS (you will receive login details for this). WOW moments can be a photograph or note and they help us to get to know your child even better.

Early Years Curriculum

In Spa Class, we deliver a curriculum which follows the statutory framework for Early Years Foundation Stage. This framework sets the standard for learning, development and care for children from birth to age 5.  The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) covers 7 areas of learning.

The three prime areas of learning and development are:

• Communication and language
• Physical development
• Personal Social and Emotional Development

The four specific areas of learning and development are:

• Literacy
• Mathematics
• Understanding the World
• Expressive arts and design

In addition to the seven areas of learning and development the EYFS framework describes three characteristics of effective learning.

Playing and Exploring -

• Finding out and exploring
• Playing with what they know
• Being willing to ‘have a go’

Active Learning -

• Being involved and concentrating
• Keeping trying
• Enjoying achieving what they set out to do

Creating and thinking critically -

• Having their own ideas
• Making Links
• Choosing ways to do things

Structure of the Day

We offer morning, afternoon and full-time sessions, with a lunch session in the middle of the day. The school office would be glad to give you additional information on application arrangements and arrange a visit should you wish.
